Atlanta Pelvic Health, 1145 Zonolite Rd NE #8, Atlanta, GA 30306, USA
About the event
For babies born between September and November 2025.
A small group learning series that provides support and connection in the months after birth. Registration includes Annual MESH moms membership.
Postpartum Pods are limited to 8 mom/baby pairs and are facilitated by an experienced Postpartum Doula and different subject matter experts.
Postpartum Pods create an intimate cohort of mothers with same-age babies. You’ll get specific guidance around developmental milestones, regulating your baby’s sleep routine, breast and bottle feeding, separation anxiety, maternal identity, and so much more! The most valuable benefit of our Postpartum Pods may simply be being seen by others going through this exciting but at times overwhelming phase of life and developing strong bonds with other moms... But you’ll also learn how to mindfully navigate the first few months of your child’s life, as well as gain resources to help you and your little one develop ongoing confidence and joy.
You will also be able to join our Pod-only WhatsApp group. Within this group, you’ll connect with the other pod participants and our Postpartum doula, receiving ongoing advice and unwavering support throughout the pod’s duration. Even after your pod concludes, this platform remains accessible, fostering ongoing connections with fellow moms.
Meeting dates:
Tuesdays and Fridays for 3 weeks: December 5, 9, 12, 16, 19.
Your pod will be led by:
Tess Ferrara, CPD with Genesis Doula Services:
Tess is a certified postpartum doula through DONA International. After 15 years in education, Tess experienced firsthand the gaps in emotional, logistical, and informational support during the fourth trimester. As a mother of three boys and with her own experiences of absent postpartum support, Tess celebrates the messy transitional time and the need for compassionate, judgement-free, affirming postpartum care. Tess has a passion for coaching parents through decisions and being a listening ear for the struggles. She believes that we are not meant to navigate the postpartum and parenting world without a community and is honored to be part of families' journeys.
Your other expert speakers are:
Abigail A. Boursiquot, MA, CCC-SLP, IBCLC
Abby is a speech-language pathologist with a Master’s degree from George Washington University. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a strong focus on dysphagia and infant feeding. Her experience includes serving as an SLP in the NICU and special care nurseries in Chicago, where she specialized in caring for medically complex infants, including those with prematurity, oral ties, and feeding efficiency challenges.
Inspired by her own breastfeeding struggles, Abby became TOTS certified and earned her IBCLC credential after extensive training. She now partners with The Lactation Network to provide accessible feeding support.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys exploring Atlanta’s Beltline with her two young children and her dog, painting, traveling, and discovering new parks, restaurants, and coffee shops. Originally from Tampa, she studied at the University of Florida before living in Chicago and now calls Atlanta home.
Becca Sawyer, PT, DPT from Atlanta Pelvic Health
Becca was drawn to pelvic health physical therapy in 2017 while pregnant with her daughter -experiencing first-hand how pregnancy and childbirth change a woman's body. Most mothers she meets have lingering pregnancy-related issues they want to address, such as diminished core strength, diastasis recti, leaking with high-impact activity, or pain during sex. As she has treated more women with persistent low back pain or achy hips, she sees these seemingly unrelated conditions can sometimes be addressed through focusing on the pelvic floor. Pelvic health is a vital aspect of women's health, and she is passionate about improving access to pelvic floor PT in my community. Her hope is to help you learn about and connect deeply to your body, and enjoy living in it. When she is not treating patients, she enjoys camping and hiking with her family. She also loves yoga and meditation and frequently incorporates aspects of both into her treatments.
Elizabeth O'Brien from Postpartum Support International
Elizabeth is a consultant, coach, and former therapist who helps leaders and organizations build regenerative, human-centered businesses. Blending neuroscience, nervous system literacy, and practical strategy, she guides clients beyond burnout and perfectionism toward sovereignty and sustainable growth.Founder of Georgia’s award-winning Postpartum Support International chapter and co-creator of Centering YOU, she’s a sought-after speaker on maternal mental health and embodied leadership. From Alaska’s remote villages to Atlanta boardrooms, Elizabeth brings clarity, humor, and a deep belief that reconnecting to ourselves transforms what’s possible.
